Osteopathy and Pelvic Health

Navigating the healthcare system can be challenging, especially in the area of women's health, pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic pain. Did you know that; 1 in 3 women who have had a baby suffer from severe bladder leakage, 1 in 5 experience poor bowel or bladder control, 50% of women over the age of 40 who have had children have some degree of prolapse, 28% of elite female athletes experience pant wetting and 1 in 5 women suffer with pelvic pain or pain during sex. Despite how common all of these conditions are, many women are still embarrassed and continue to suffer in silence. Many women think that it is normal to wet your pants after giving birth or that it’s normal to experience pain with intercourse. Although yes it is common, it isn’t actually normal and in most cases improvement and assistance is readily available.

As an osteopath, a woman and a mother, I am especially passionate about supporting women throughout all stages of their lives. From bodies being prepared for menstruation to the changes experienced during menopause, women undergo a unique and beautiful journey in their ever changing bodies. With an in-depth understanding of the physical and emotional changes that occur throughout these stages, I look forward to helping you learn about and feel more confident in your body.
